Frequently Asked Questions

This is by no means an exhaustive list of the questions asked by parents and learners, but represents some of the more common concerns. Contact us by phone or through our contact form if you have questions not addressed here.
How are your teachers trained?

Our teachers bring with them their own experience and education as educators. We verify their credentials and ensure that they abide by our policies, but we do not train or teach them to teach.

What is the student/teacher ratio?

Classes are currently given as either one-to-one, or in a small group of no more than 6 students. Class duration and frequency varies.

How do you ensure the safety of children?

IndieTeachers must have a spotless history of educating others, they must pass a background check with law enforcement, and they must be comfortable with unannounced classroom observation.

Do you provide receipts for tax purposes?

We issue official receipts for all fees paid. Receipts include Canadian and Quebec provincial taxes (where applicable) which may be used for end-of-year tax credits.

Do you offer a discount for multiple?

We do not offer a discount to students who take multiple courses. However, we will consider discounting families who enroll more than one child in a single course.

Do you offer Financial Assistance?

We are happy to organize payment plans involving deferred payments and payment schedules, but we do not offer scholarships or bursaries.
